Little Bits of Randomness......

Part of a lovely garden
 we passed this week.

I love the way they are grazing together :)
This photo was taken a while ago. Sadly when we passed by the field earlier this week, they were gone.
We will miss seeing them on our walks.
Such a long lasting plant ( Kalanchoe ) really brightens a
corner outside.
It had previously been inside in the kitchen
where it was enjoyed for quite a few months.
The pinecones were picked straight from a fallen branch
on one of our walks.
I picked them with the purpose of putting them in a bowl
for decoration, but after seeing some little insects on them kept
them outside :)

Mixed Berry and Banana Crumble with Homemade Custard.
Custard was a little thicker than usual but just as tasty.

I mixed some chopped dates with the berries and bananas then
sprinkled a bit of brown sugar on top.The Crumble topping is made from wholemeal flour, oats, sunflower oil , honey, ground almonds, and cinnamon.

The Custard is made from all natural Custard powder, raw cane sugar
and full fat milk.

Calling all Early Birds.......🐦🌻🐦

I used to be a very early bird and early to bed but over
the last few years I am staying up later and later and as
a consequence getting up later as well.

I would appreciate any hints and tips to get things back
on track.

This may also be of help to others who are in the same
situation.

Thank🌼You

What is it about Jars?

I spent time yesterday doing a little bit of Larder/Pantry
arrangement.
As I was moving things around I
started to think about how much I loved
having Jars to store our food.

Jars are such practical storage, not wasteful
you can see at a glance how much is left inside,
can be cleaned and reused over and over again.

Even the most basic food looks nice in jars.

Many of you may remember being given little jars filled
with sweeties (candy) at Christmas like a little shop.
I always loved that.

Friday Frittata

I had some leftover cooked potatoes
                                              from yesterday and added carrots,
                                              leeks, courgette (zucchini), garlic and
a little bit of onion. I ended up using
4 eggs and some cheese, herbs and
seasoning and baked it in the oven.
                                              Until set bubbling and golden.
In my oven it took about 45mins
                                              at 180° Celsius.
